Back-to-School Night (Parent's Night):
This evening gathering takes place in the fall. Parents follow an abbreviated version of their child's schedule and faculty describe their courses and expectations for students.
FPAC:
Pronounced "eff-pack," a shortened version of the Flickinger Performing Arts Center.
Grade-Level Coordinator:
The 5th and 6th grade Coordinators oversee the fifth and sixth grade teacher and advisors, reviewing curriculum, student needs and performance at weekly meetings.
Green and White:
The Nichols school colors. Sports teams are often referred to as "The Big Green," although the school has recently adopted a Viking as a mascot.
Meetings:
All students meet daily in their homerooms with their advisory. Each grade usually has a weekly meeting.
Middle School Dean:
Ann Newell is the Dean of Fifth and Sixth Grade Students. Michele Speach is the Dean of Seventh and Eighth Grade Students.
Moving-Up Day:
The 8th grade Graduation ceremony.
Nichols Today, Toaxnoes:
School Publications: a monthly parent newsletter, and the Alumni magazine, pronounced "Too-ah-la-thays."
Spirit Day and Homecoming:
The Friday prior to Homecoming Saturday is called Spirit Day. The Student Council organizes a number of school spirit-raising activities during this day.
