It's important to us that you feel informed about every aspect of the Nichols admissions process. Below are some answers to questions we receive from many families. Where is Nichols located?
Both the upper and middle schools are located at the corner of Colvin Boulevard and Amherst Street in North Buffalo. Our campus is easily accessed from the Scajacquada Expressway (Route 198), via Parkside Ave or Delaware Ave.
What are the hours of your school day?
The day begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 3:07 p.m. for the upper school, and begins at 8:05 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. for the middle school.
What is Nichols' accreditation?
We are accredited by the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the New York State Department of Education.
What is the average class size?
There are approximately 14 students in each class. The student to teacher ratio is 8:1.
Does Nichols have a dress code?
Yes. Girls wear a dress, skirt, or dress slacks with a dress blouse or sweater and dress shoes. Boys wear dress slacks with a dress shirt, a tie will be required for formal dress days. A dress sweater may be worn if a turtleneck or dress shirt with a tie is worn under it. Dress shoes and socks.
